***The Extreme in Any Manner Leaves a Lasting Impression! *** – Baron Craze

Well Friends and Fiends, last month we had our first true comeback issue, with over 50 items, and while it reached some of our goals, clearly not everything was achieved which I shall not reveal, we have to keep some secrets. If it shows anything, it’s that we are on the right path to find our new journey. I just received our newest writer Vix’s contribution and working to tighten up I love helping other writers find their own unique voice, did that with both Vincent and 3C; so that is a work in progress. I must admit that class on Hitchcock helped ignite the engines and got the blood flowing once more. So many enjoyed our Hitchcock issue! I’m unsure if I will do that again, maybe I so it was fun.

Speaking of that class, my friend is holding a summer session, on 1939 movies, which is considered the golden age of cinema, as 365 films were released, remember there was no DVD. VOD, or cable, hell television was primarily a fantasy. The United States was emerging from the Great Depression, though the nation would be involved in World War II soon. So why do I mention this because they are having special guest lectures once more, and I’ve already been invited and accepted to do two of them Adventures of Sherlock Holmes which stars Basil Rathbone and then to close out the classes in August Jamaican Inn by director Alfred Hitchcock.

As most know July, actually the third week of the month begins the early start of the Halloween season, and for some of us while we live in the world of Halloween everyday this marks our extended holiday season. My problem, I’m out of room for anything else, therefore I will report on the goodies, but not purchase them, seriously I am out of all kinds of room, books sit in boxes as do comics and magazines and tons of gothic items, alas it’s a great collection to view with those special clients that come over or witness it. However, a great aspect that occurs is a lot of cool movies unleash in the theaters like The Black Phone, very Hitchcockian, and then DVD and VOD markets have a huge outpouring. However, my girl is starting to go through these boxes and is starting to display them as well as putting the books out on my new bookshelves, even if it means keeping them out for so long and then alternating what’s been out. Of course, there will be exceptions on purchasing what if released after all, I am the Horror Historian who loves to add to my collection.

Lastly, I want to thank everyone for the encouragement as I’ve been going through my health issues. At times it holds me back, but I won’t let it during the best season of the year – Halloween! On another note, I will be starting a new column about some of personal collection items, especially now that I’ve found insurance covering the items. Finally, I know we often get the greetings and Visions of Horror out on the first of the month however, with the holiday the owner of the site gave me permission to start later in the month, but now I’m back in the stalking mode to work on whacking and slaughter various reviews and items for your pleasure.

Until next month – stay healthy, safe, and enjoy all the horror you can including this site!
