Dissimulation, the anticipated new full-length from Richmond, Virginia’s .gif from god, is out today on Prosthetic Records!
Formed in 2015, .gif from god has garnered a reputation for blending hardcore punk with extreme metal elements, including metalcore, screamo, and grindcore, manifesting a singularly anarchic, genre-defying sound that has helped solidify their standing within the underground music scene. Their lineup, finalized in 2017 with two stand-alone vocalists, is notorious for delivering high-energy and chaotic live performances.
Dissimulation is the band’s third LP. Here, .gif from god has honed their frantic craft into a laser-focused sonic blast that slips in like a blade and hits like a truck. Working again with Matt Michel at the legendary Viva Studios, they’ve exceeded the limits of their previous work while creating a record that is still deeply rooted in the storied Virginia punk scene that precedes them. Dissimulation explores the unseen, otherworldly senses within us that are indescribable and horrific to face. Spiraling paranoid fantasies that lure you deeper into the cosmic abyss.
