This was a special month that passed on, as it featured Chompfest which occurs in the last week of the month, and is our version of Shark Week, and we released at least one review per day that is a flick involving a wonderful set of chompers. Although once more it is a wonderful but sinister collection of nightmarish treats that others selected for me aside from one film on the list, which was the special engagement of Rear Window [1954] celebrating a 70-year anniversary, the theatre was booked solid, and a true cross-section of society of all races and ages; however this is not the oldest film on the list, that honor goes to Cry of the Werewolf [1944] celebrating 80-years followed closely behind is Abbott & Costello Meet the Killer Boris Karloff [1949] notching the 75yr mark. In the 31-dys of August I never missed day, and the result was 52-horror/thrillers seen, of which ten were previously seen as part of Revisiting Past Horrors column along with 4-television and 2-documentaries. Here once again was another film indirectly connected to Tombs of the Blind Dead [1972], and this is the second month in a row I mentioned it, if you are curious, I’m working of a strange theory that only a Horror Historian can do and shall have presenting an article before year-end of my findings. Oh, by the way we had the return of the DOA review – the worse movie. Lastly, 2010 was the most popular decade with 19-films.
