Now, before I launch into this month, it requires an explanation, I missed a few days due medical reasons, and this resulted in a ‘frankly’ messed-up month, and yet I saw a variety of both great and odd films, and while odd doesn’t always mean dreadful it also can’t excuse these types. It was recently asked of me if I watch any other genre besides horror which I do but this is Visions of Horror which exists to show the horror films I’m watching. I mean some others were the 12 Angry Men (1957), The Sting (1973), Smokey and the Bandit (1977) and honestly plenty action films but my love for the horror genre always stays in the forefront. Therefore, I believe as a tagline doctor one who designs taglines for horror films and has a self-created database for this purpose I don’t limit my viewership, as it also helps with other filmmaking styles and quirks. A debate that stews often is that a horror fan needs to view only them and nothing else, however any fan can tell you there are plenty of crossovers between the genres and subgenres that occur name sci-fi and horror – Alien [1979] or comedy and horror Young Frankenstein [1974]; hence its always important to expansive one’s horizon and learn from others of how create more fattening repertoire of films to use into your future endeavors.

Let’s begin the examination of the past month, I saw  37 films, while unavailable for five days and on two  days watched 3 films on each which was one in theater and two at home, so on April 7th it was Malum [2023] in the theater, a good remake of Last Shift [2014] now with a larger budget and gave of a storyline that I’d be interested seeing further developed, once home it was watching the original film previously mention to freshly compare them and the later on viewing the old television movie The Picture of Dorian Gray [1973]. Then on April 19, marked the second day of watching three films they were Nefarious [2023] in the theater and Rabid Love [2013] as well as And Now the Screaming Starts! [1973]. Also I saw 3 other films in the theater which was A Pope’s Exorcist [2023], Renfield [2023] and Evil Dead Rise [2023] and for the curios with 1973 being my birth-year the anniversary films marking their 50th tallied to be six, and for the year that is 22-flicks, while there was 31 films that were celebrating number anniversary dates. Finally,  2-movies were honored with their 80th they are I Walked with a Zombie [1943] and The Leopard Man [1943].
