Hey calling all fiends, friends and fans of the beloved genre of horror, the time has come again for a fan orientated convention, The 10th-time, to rise once more, a great way to get a jump start on the Halloween season, it’s a wonderful time to be had by so many, seeing old friends and making new connections, so many aspiring filmmakers attend to one day have their dream fulfilled of being a guest rather than as attendees. Alas that’s what is exists for so many, that opportunity to fulfill dreams, at a primary family fun experienced, at least during the daylight hours. The event created and hosted by Ryan Scott Weber and his loyal team of workers and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions and help both the guests (The Stars) and all attendees, and yes, we all know some are better than others, but you got to roll with it. Hence, September Friday 16th to 18th Sunday with the hours for most activities of 5p to 10p on Friday, Saturday 10a to 7p and Sunday 10a to 4p; which ends one hour shorter this time around, all found at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ.

Now, before I continue, I’m going to attempt to be there for the con, I do enjoy this great event to miss it for a whole year, all due to medical issues some that recently had me in the hospital for a lengthy stay, not covid-19 other items that affected mere mortals. Therefore, have a great time attending the event, and face there’s so much to do, I know everyone hears the same old thing “I got no money for this thing…” but wait there’s a solution. The entry fee at the door is $35 not including parking and tolls, just follow the Baron’s Attendance Advice, each will show the worth in $5 aspects:

  • Attend Q&A – of various panels, ask questions to the stars photograph them on stage
  • Walk convention floor, grab business cards visit their sites to purchase item later on, and get glimpses of Stars or meeting other aspiring filmmakers
  • Attend the Film Festival hosted by Director/ Musician Tony Goggles
  • Attend a Cosplay Costume Contest
  • Attend a LIVE fun Award Show
  • Attend a FREE Special Screening
  • Have fun!

There you go, 7 items one could do on Saturday the 17th, which everyone knows who ever attended on of these is the best day for you bucks, as it runs from 10a to who knows when; though the late-night items aren’t really for children so let the tykes sleep. The screams one wants to hear is from the participates.

Who’s coming to the event???

Well, you could look at their website or on Facebook, Instagram or here you go, note it is subject to change as Guests do have lives and careers, which can affect their appearances production schedules are always changing.

First up and likely to be in big demand, but not over charging for his signature is Tom Savini, a name that guarantees you all selecting a film in your minds, a star on the screen, as a director, performance and of course Special Effects, we known the Friday the 13th fans will descend like raving maniacs on this opportunity. Then there’re a few reunions occurring for example The Rocky Horror Picture Show – 47-years after the film release it is still incredibly popular hence 2-stars will be in attendance, Nell Campbell and Patricia Quinn, and yes I am unsure if there will be a Time Warp dance at Starlite Lounge/Bar on Saturday night. As for the other reunions there are three among them and leading the charge is the Terrifier 2 group namely director Damien Leone and everyone’s favorite clown ‘Art’ portrayed happily by David Howard Thornton obviously discussing their newest project; they’ll be joined with Michael Leavy ad Steven Della Salla.

Next up two stars from Scream [1996] Nancy Anne Ridder along with Leonora Scelfo. And then finally Bob Desimone (a rarity on the convention circuit) and Melanie Kinnaman of Friday the 13th: Part V: A New Beginning [1985] fame, though if a fan of Part 6 Darcy DeMoss, who starred in the lessor known Return to Horror High [1987], which is celebrating its 35th-anniversary. Lastly, major draw shall be Peter Criss, which one had to purchase a different pass to see him, a get up to 10 items sign per person, with a mask on, but those passes are all sold-out sorry folks, but come on he was in KISS, though if you can’t meet him there’s Len Delessio the photographer for that incredible band. We do have some other returning guests to the con, among those greats is Lloyd Kaufman the leader of Troma Films, Hal Havens of Night of the Demons fame along with Amanda Bearse, who might be more well-known for her role on Married with Children than excellent flick Fright Night [1985] and must not omit Felissa Rose. I know there shall be authors on-hand be sure to stop by an see them and of course Father Evil.

One could always use a good blessing.

The information, concerning Q&A Panels was just announced, there are 9 of them set out across all three days, two of likely largest on Saturday before the Cosplay contest is Tom Savini and Amanda Bearse then later that night is the special reunion of The Rocky Horror Picture show at 9p. Then Sunday has two back-to-back events that should attend Friday the 13th, Part 5 reunion and then stay for Terrifier 2 panel. Be sure to check the numerous vendors without them these events would be very hard to maintain existence.

A few important factors, common sense items, wash your hands, if you have a cold wear a mask, don’t shake hands respectfully decline, if you are sharing an elevator ride with a Guest be polite best not to say anything or try to grab pic; we don’t need wannabe paparazzi. Always be respectful of everyone around you, bump into one say sorry no harm no foul, control the language especially with children nearby, and especially give way to those that handicap.

Oh, wait!… There’s the Film Festival very important to check you never know who will be in the audience, and it’s hosted by Horrorfinds.com! Then there’s a new option available for those who can’t make to the event “Send-In Service” from SteveD3Authentics (link below), basically you mail them your item and they for a price over the autograph price will get it signed for you, this sounds like a wonderful add-on for fans.

Otherwise, fiends enjoy this great show, and no complaining about autograph prices, the event creators hold no control over them, but they seem reasonable priced. Therefore, with all this info you plan where and when to be in all the locations.

Have a Scary Good Time!
