*** The Extreme in Any Manner Leaves a Lasting Impression! *** – Baron Craze

This shall be a tad different than any previous month, first it is obvious of the drastic difference between June and July issues, June was packed, and July is scant, what the hell happened, folks, friends, and fiends, I was diagnosed with a major infection. It was so bad it had me in the hospital for quite a few days, I missed a special lecture I was to do on the 1939 classic The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Face it, being in the hospital everything changes, your goals, attitude, whether your spiritual or not, it’s the moment you start to ask for more time. The infection was not Covid or Monkey Pox, none of that, something totally different, which puzzled the doctors, because the normal path would have been caught early on, so I’m not quite human… big surprise!!! Therefore, a lot suffered for the month, reviews on films, music, comics, books, a dreadful output, was set to relaunch the podcast shows but it ended in turmoil. I want to thank everyone for the prayers, thoughts, and to the few who shall remain nameless, include those Nameless Covens, for the sacrifices.

So where does that leave The Horror Times, well I am still the editor, thankful to the owner, I mean I’ve got a great excuse, this infection took me out of some things, however I won’t be able to attend the NJ Horror Con, but don’t worry I’ll be back doing conventions next year. I’m being diligent in going to doctors & outpatient therapy so by the time September/October comes along I’ll be able to resume some of what I normally do in visiting antique shops for Halloween collectibles, used bookstores for those treasures, and tour of cemeteries. This month I will be dedicating myself to the next issue. One thing I have noticed is that the infection hampered my vision and typing skills, the nerves are damaged, so another adjustment to make in life. I’m thankful for the therapy I’m getting and of course for my girl and staff to help me get through the difficult issues so the issue for August and going forward will be stellar.

Now I’m turning my attention to Horror this means more classic movies. Those I know my sound in my office, the chamber, and without making any promises, glorified commitments, I’m going to strive the best for the site, readers, and those who enjoy the Horror cinema, filled with blood, guts, gore, fangs, claws, scares, and laughter. The horror cinema and genre which is all forms, is what we all enjoy and with under 90-days to the high holy date of Halloween, it’s time to prepare and get ready for it, especially learning that Catholic Church is blessing more exorcists and more dreadful Hersey isn’t going to meet the demand for Halloween candy. Noooooooooooooooo! Oh, one last item regarding the Remembrance of the Dead, I do not handle this directly and lent to another individual to do, and while I am asked questions concerning who to include, there is the former spouse of Anton LaVey on the list, with a reason and Pat Carroll from Mickey’s House of Villains, why not, Horror doesn’t need to be serious all the time, and remember we were all little children or devils once, and I am ‘uncle’ Baron to friend’s children as they ask me about Scooby-Doo, Jack Skeleton, and others; hence have fun.

Before I end, the craziest thig I heard in the hospital, diabetics need to avoid scary movies, in fact the entire horror genre and Halloween because it makes the blood pressure to elevate easier and encourages them to snack more often. Oh please!

Until next month – stay healthy, safe, and enjoy all the horror you can including this site!
