***The Extreme in Any Manner Leaves a Lasting Impression! *** – Baron Craze

This month started with swirling excitement of the Oscars, before that night, it was filled with the standard aspect of ignoring the horror genre, and then there was the freakish moment of Chris Rock and Will Smith, followed by the attention dedicated to the situation. Oh please, with atrocities occurring in the Ukraine this got so much attention; simply keep one’s hand to yourself, discuss the matter backstage, Will had opportunity during his speech to note his wife’s health condition. However, what is important is the new category of #Fanfavorite an Oscar voted by the fans was none other than Army of the Dead [2021] from director Zack Snyder. A horror movie won out in the end, and throughout the 90 plus years of this prestigious award has about 19 films of the horror genre which won often in the categories of special effects, soundtracks, costume, basically those in unique groupings, and then the psychological thriller The Silence of the Lambs [1991].

I’m finding the job of educator/lecturer to be very time consuming, but also thoroughly enjoyable giving the class on Alfred Hitchcock movies, generating interesting discussions afterwards. I work to engage each person in the class, from the church mouse to the horror fan and even having private one-on-ones with those that are hard of hearing or someone with a more involved question. I often find myself explain the scenes in breakdown methodology of how the scene is orchestrated to captured everything and give respect to the audience and how he layered a shot. This month there’s only three movies since a break is included for Easter, but I have friends and others wanting to come by for the Psycho [1960] engagement on May 3rd, with limited seating.

One other thing on the site that has changed is the New Comics Releases. Instead of doing them each week, and thereby as the month goes on, I would miss opportunities to post the remaining weeks; simple fix, post them all at once allow you the readers to read ahead and plan out your purchasing pattern or methods.
Lastly, from April 8th to 10th the New Jersey Horror Con and Film Festival is/has occurred and for the first time ever, I won’t be in attendance, surgery has come for me, which was scheduled for Friday the 9th, but was rescheduled for reasons unknown currently. I looked at the bigger picture take of the problem now, so I attend future conventions. My sincere apologies to friends, and others at the convention have great time so you all in September.

Until next month – stay safe and enjoy all the horror you can including this site!
