Based on the macabre true story of Kuno Hofmann, the “Vampire of Nuremberg”, the film plays like a kind of grown up fairy tale, albeit one that includes bloodsucking, eyeball evisceration and voyeuristic lesbian sex scenes among a host of other activities.
