***The Extreme in Any Manner Leaves a Lasting Impression! *** – Baron Craze

Well, horror fans and fiends, welcome to a new month, this one contains a Friday 13th, the first of three this year, as the month January went so, a few reviews but no podcasts, not for an effort of trying. My IT personnel I swear talk in gibberish and said some module is not working right and promises it will be fixed very soon as I am not his only client. So, all I know is that Baron’s Crypt episode 299 is loaded but the pages are not working nor is it for Visions of Horror for January 2026 so neither is live.

The second is tough loss when a great friend is moving far and basically that friendship is ending some communication is possible however, it shall never be the same. Therefore, lost a few days over that departure it was unexpected which hurt more than a planned countdown.

Needless the site is alive a well, a lot more is planned, you all like the Blood and Guts List so that I am thankful for, and we had to clear a legal hurdle but will be having more Books (both fiction and non-fiction) in the horror genre releases entitled “Words Conjure Nightmares.” I know many state the kindle is better, it is easier to carry several books or have the pdf read to oneself. However, I feel there’s nothing quite like the pages of an actual a book, besides the literature is always a wonderful place to present new ingenious creative tortures that aren’t censored.

In addition, in the world of horror itself January had a few good horror films, Primate was bloodshed galore, with characters doing some dumb things and can’t expect less, also the name Ben that belongs to a Rat not a Chimp. We Bury the Dead was a strange horror, no flesh-eating zombies, more about betrayal, loss, and death with many of the living going mad, the movie shows a bit of religious theme at the very end. Now, you sought zombies, well 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple was unleashed, with humans causing more pain and agony the virus raging killers, the third act is killer fun, metal fans rejoice.

Speaking of rejoicing, The Thing [1982] a film once panned and dismiss by critics of yesteryear and theater-goers has stormed from cult classic to added to the Library of Congress (Check Our List), meaning it is enshrined forever. Director John Carpenter must be enjoying some J&B Whiskey, after all he always knew that film about paranoia and dangerous alien species was released at the wrong time, as the nation was all hugs and smiles from E.T. but the studio didn’t listen and after short stay the film vanished from screens. Although sad, T.K. Carter, passed January 9th, 20 days later the news broke of The Thing, it’s Carpenter’s second film on the List.

That is all for now – enjoy the month of February with the releases coming out as I’m sure everyone is anticipating Dracula, the third installment of The Strangers: Chapter 3 and of course Scream 7. So, enjoy all the horror you can in the theaters, streaming and print.
