***The Extreme in Any Manner Leaves a Lasting Impression! *** – Baron Craze

Well Horror Fans, I’m personally pleased that 2025 has ended; to explain, this greeting of this month is always a time to reflect on the past year and look to the future. The past, well it was plagued with a lot of health issues, and I do mean a lot, stretched from before the year started to some extremely dire news in August to receive second opinions which led it another direction thankful for the prayers – both mainstay and pagan. Of course, this affected the writing schedule thoroughly ruining all plans. Then at the end of October, we encountered two issues one a technical and a bizarre legal injunction. The tech one affected uploading issues and second, which dealt more with the owner than any writer, but we had to respect it except for releasing press information, comics, film, and music. These two aspects kept us offline for a lengthy time postponing all sorts of shows and other plans. UGH!

Therefore, let’s turn the attention to 2026, as our Ghost Galleon ship shall continue to sail onward, with our cannons loaded and the tall sails casting shadows causing nightmarish chaos to all. Yes, the site will be fully ready, with writers Vix and Vincent as well as 3C all returning. We have decided to discontinue the DOA reviews and focus more on broader selection of horror films with a nod to thrillers and a dash of sci-fi flicks. However, we recovered at the last minute sending a lot to one of our key personnel to post to the site, it overwhelmed them. Nonetheless we released two last minute podcasts, two articles and odds and ends.

As for the horror genre, quite a few new films are on the horizon and with plenty of sequels, though a new design has emerged which harkens back to the films of the 30s and 40s, which are shown as chapters. Basically, instead of sequel the story continues onward sometimes with time jumps or merely straightforward allowing for a more expansive film enjoyment and brings the audience along for more story. Then appears some new twists on horror tropes, I think the stories need to truly immerse the viewer and make them question the morals, values, and beliefs – while I do hope audience members will reengage in talking to each other before and after the film. One such movie was The Housemaid. Not horror more of a thriller with Hitchcockian traits, look for the Vertigo [1958] cues.

Finally, the ownership, staff and myself hope the new year brings, screams, laughs, and plenty of enjoyment, push aside the negative and embrace all which the horror genre offers, ignore the naysayers they’ll never understand, just be comfortable with who you are.

HAPPY BLOODY NEW YEAR HORROR FANS!
