Once more, taking the tine to step back in time to rediscover what I thought of these films and has the view point change.

The Curse of Downers Grove [2015]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: A teen angst thriller at a high school gripped by an apparent curse that claims the life of a senior every year. Story follows a senior, Chrissie, who is skeptical, and another, Tracy, who believes that she may be the next victim.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: October 2015

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 4.5/10

MY RATE THEN: 4.5/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED: The story attempts to reach for the subgenre of slasher but does not truly achieve that lofty goal rather it resides more as a thriller and bordering on mystery undertones. This movie feels it is geared towards the teen market but will provide entertainment to all.

The Skeleton Key [2005]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: A hospice nurse working at a New Orleans plantation home finds herself entangled in a mystery involving the house’s dark past.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: Some point in the later 2000s

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 6.5/10

3C RATE THEN: 6.5/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED: Um, okay this is different, but I was asked by Baron to reevaluate my review and if my view changed. So, I would say no but there always needs to be a reason, well, I recently saw Witchboard (which I did not was a remake, never saw the original) and the movie had a voodoo element, however this movie was by far a better film. the plot was easier to follow and the twist highly enjoyable

Shark Lake [2015]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: A local sheriff, Meredith Hendricks, makes it her mission to capture the “animal” and bring the exotic animal collector to justice.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: March 2016

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 3.5/10

MY RATE THEN: 2.5/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED: First, this is my third viewing of the film to critique it, the second time it became part of the DOA series in October 2018. For the most part the film lacks a clear identity did want to be an action thriller with dramatic undertones or a horror thriller, this problem leads to an amateurish approach for any horror to be displayed and the lack of any suspense leaves everything flat and unless for any enjoyment.

Lost After Dark [2015]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: In this clever homage to ’80s slasher films, a group of teenagers looking to party get stranded when their ride breaks down and end up being stalked by a cannibalistic killer.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: June 2016

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 4.9/10

MY RATE THEN: 5.0/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED: No, this average slasher, which uses an overused concept of naming characters after famous people in horror movies, a well-worn cliché. Although they might see it has rip-off and others enjoy the homage, it does not matter the flick incorporates of b-movie moments, as well as a very good send up to Zombie [1979].

Prison of the Dead [2000]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: Kristof, an eccentric rich kid, tricks his high school friends into getting back together for a reunion of sorts, under the pretense of a funeral. The group of twenty-somethings is forced to spend the night in an old, abandoned witches’ prison. During a Ouija Board séance, the schoolmates accidentally unearth three dead executioners from their graves. A little confused, and quite a bit angry, the Crypt Keepers initiate a killing spree that will only end when everyone is dead. Fortunately, the schoolmates all wore black. Too bad it’s for their own funerals.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: December 2018

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 2.6/10

MY RATE THEN: 2.2/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED: No, I feel I judge it correctly and sentence it to lifetime of wretched agony in DOA graveyard. This was a difficult review as I am fan of b-movie productions especially those from Full Moon Entertainment, but this movie lacks so much in two categories to list.

The Pack [2015]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: A family must fight for their lives when vicious feral dogs surround and attack their farmhouse.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: Unknown

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 5.0/10

MY RATE THEN: 4.5/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED: No, the movie for left me uncaring about the victims, a production especially one that includes a family needs to generate a passion for us, the viewers to strive for their success. However, it is merely wasted as the film carries onward ones becomes disinterest in them, as for the dogs, their  presentations are equally lackluster.

Most Likely to Die [2015]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: A group of former classmates gather for a pre-party at one of their homes the night before their 10-year high school reunion, and one by one, they are brutally slain in a manner befitting each’s senior yearbook superlative.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: October 2016

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 4.0/10

MY RATE THEN: 3.5/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED:  First, disregard the cover art as this movie is not a true horror movie, rather it is more akin to a thriller. The movie had plenty of opportunities to do something more than merely what is presented on the screen.

**************         *********************            ****************

Harbinger Down [2015]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: While studying the effects of global warming on a pod of whales, grad students on a crabbing vessel and its crew uncover frozen Soviet space shuttle and unintentionally release a monstrous organism from it.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: December 2015

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 4.5/10

MY RATE THEN: 4.5/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED: Simply it has not changed, as this movie is more of a clone of The Thing [1982] than purely an original conceptual flick.

The St. Francisville Experiment [2000]

SUMMARY PER IMDB: Four young people spend a night in a haunted mansion.

DATE WHEN I SAW IT ORIGINALLY: In early 2000s

IMDB RATING AT TIME OF REV: 4.1/10

MY RATE THEN: 4.0/10

HAS MY VIEW CHANGED: No, this a strange found footage flick, though experienced director Ted Nicolaou delivers a strong effort on a limited budget, with a few scares, to generate a chilling tone for the fans of this subgenre.
