This month the column returned to true form, by asking the question what would happen if you asked friends and strangers to choose horror films for you to see in each month? The result could be wonderful to terrible, well I received both, from a movie with a low rating of 1.8 to the high of 6.9. Once again though I traveled to the theater to see four different horror films that truly varied in subgenre, though one included my favorite often non-horror actor Al Pacino in The Ritual. Speaking of subgenre, the month ran the gambit from big monsters to little ones, vampires to zombies, original stories to sequels, mysterious adults to creepy children, and sheer horror to comedy-horror and among them eight films previously reviewed that are celebrating anniversaries. As for anniversaries three films are sharing their 70th, Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy (not one of their better horror spoofs), The Beast with a Million Eyes, and It Came from Beneath the Sea. In the end, in 29-viewing-days, saw 36-movies with decade of 1970s being favorite with 8-films.
