As the convention cycle begins again, this fun adventure brings the needed excitement to the Horror Kingdom, on Saturday and Sunday, March 1st and 2nd at the Expo Center in Edison NJ, the festivities each day start at 10a.
There’s a lot to cover on this wild ride, but first an important note, once more I shall miss out on the excitement and enjoyment, sidelined to the ongoing medical battle. Aside from that let’s dive into the action packed weekend, which is no longer spread out over 3-days rather confined to just two, so one really needs to know who and what they desire to see before going, the best option bring a friend to split your goals.
As is common with the cons, nowadays there’s at least one reunion, the first one is The Blair Witch Project [1999] that will have Heather Donahue, leading the way along with Michael C. Williams, and Joshua Leonard. These talented individuals will reveal secrets about the film at the Q&A panel that leads off Sunday at noon.
The other major reunion is those famous stars from Halloweentown I and II, Robin Thomas, Kimberly J. Brown, J. Paul Zimmerman, and Daniel Kountz always fun to learn about their other projects and what they are up to nowadays; which can be discovered at the second Q&A panel on Saturday afternoon.
One must not omit three other, minor togethers, first up is Basket Case [1982] with Frank Henenlotter and Kevin Van Hentenryck, be sure to check out his stone artwork.
Next, is a combo from the new horror flick “Stream”, Michael and Jason Leavy, Wesley Holloway, Charles Edwin Powell, Marcus Slabine with Liana Pirraglia Sunday Only). This mighty group will both round out the final panel of the con and the last event on Sunday.
Lastly, for the film Saw II [2005], presents for enjoyment Beverly Mitchell and Franky G.
Once more the Film Festival, Panels are all included but take the time to enjoy the free Cos-play Contest on Saturday night are stay for the Film Festival Awards with a special VIP Party to follow.
As one should take the time to visit the other named stars among them is Mindy Sterling who starred in many productions especially House [1985] celebrating its 40th-anniversary and has the honor of leading off the first Q&A panel of the con; and the legendary actress Camille Keaton from the cult classic I Spit On Your Grave [1978].
So many to see but look for the new rising talented filmmakers Dave Kerr (The Slasher Nurse [2025]) and Scott Goldberg (The Forest Hills [2023]). These two films are showing at the Film Festival, which is included in your ticket price, it is nice to take a break from the guest circuit room, afterwards travel back to the numerous vendor tables which often have authors on-hand to discuss their chilling work.
Now I know you like to look stylish for the event, but wear comfortable footwear, while the air outside might be chilly inside shall be warm, especially in the various rooms and all the walking, so dress appropriately, bring cash and stay on budget below are the autograph table prices (PLAN AHEAD).
Hey, be respectful of the stars, and the other fans, stay off the phone because of children and the disabled – watch where you walk. Listen to staff and security personnel cause we all want a fun time, with smiles and laughs, so leave the attitude in the car.
Be sure to bid welcome greetings to Lord Damien MacDonovan and get blessings for your journeys from Father Evil.
