‘Homicidal’ is William Castle’s Extraordinary Homage to Hitchcock’s ‘Psycho’

Hitchcock loved Castle’s low-budget movies (13 Ghosts [1960], The Tingler [1959], House on Haunted Hill [1959]) and admired how well they did at the box office.
It is said he made Psychoto see if he could capitalize on the genre too. As history would show, Psycho did that and more to become a critical success and one of the greatest horror films in cinematic history.
Hitchcock’saccolades encouraged Castle to direct Homicidal in 1961, but he upped the ante in a one-two twist which was way ahead of its time.
Homicidal was a great success among audiences, it surpasses its model in structure, suspense
Overall the finale isn’t all that bad
Homicidal isn’t a great movie technically, and Castle can only live in Hitchcock’s shadow as a director.

The Wayans Brothers Return for New ‘Scary Movie’ Film

Scary Movie, the comedy franchise that parodied horror movies like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer, will be rebooted.
This will be the sixth film in the franchise.
The Wayans brothers, alongside Rick Alvarez, will be writing and producing this film.
Scary Movie will be released in theaters and begins shooting in 2025.
Marlon, Shawn and Keenen quote: “We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the new SCARY MOVIE and work with each other again. This is a franchise we created more than 20 years ago. We remember people laughing in the aisles and hope to see that happen again.
