***The Extreme in Any Manner Leaves a Lasting Impression! *** – Baron Craze
Greetings Horror Fans and Fanatics yes there wasn’t a Editor’s Greeting last month a lot of reasons first our big fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis Association of America which took 6 months to plan was rained out – ugh, so we had to quickly scratch the plans and set it later into the year, hence even more community meetings then we have another fundraiser that I am hired to plan it is called balancing the good karma with our evil misgivings that is occurring in the end of April, and organizing more community volunteer programs for it. Then a YouTube site that I was subscriber to called NEW WAVE OF OLD SCHOOL THRASH METAL was temporary put into a hold because someone made false copyright claims/ strikes and all the bands the owner freely promoted were wiped out, therefore, I began working on contacting all the bands I could that were at one time featured on his page to offer free airplay and promotion for their music. So far, 40 bands have been thankful and granting permission, this project will take some time as I am now working off the Facebook page. Updated: this page has returned but I’m going to continue my efforts to give the bands more exposure in case it ever happens again, thereby providing more avenues of promotion. Hence it has become very time consuming but worth it, though the price sacrifice time on reviewing films, books, music and so much more.
Nevertheless, the effort is going to pay off, a recent Shredding Metal Beast show was 42-bands of a 3-hour thrash show, and some encouraged me to assemble some sort of thrash festival – sorry that is a little out of my league. Although, not the first time I have heard it, in fact I’ve been asked to make shows for Black Metal and Horror Punk, so it is interesting many want that from me.
Let’s return to horror front, first the NJ Horror Con and Film Festival is occurring this month with a fantastic show, Kane Hodder is going to be on hand and so many others, sadly my medical issue is going to prevent me from attending, I had really hoped the news was going to be a clearance but sadly nope – don’t worry I’m still appearing at local events which are just for the day. Thanks to so many for sending me films, books and music – even comics, and such a great swag is filling the mailbox too for our giveaways have returned. Our recent winner is announced below… Next, I’m returning my attention to finding that balance between review writing and podcasting thanks to the wonderful support.
Speaking of podcasts, it seems the news is out, that Shredding Metal Beasts in August will celebrate 10-years on the air, and hence every band wants in on that killer show, and we have finally figured out how to do it correctly, it is a major undertaking and yet we have shocking discoveries leading up to it, so tune for that. As well as Baron’s Crypt closing in 300 shows, with a few specials to do too.
One last tidbit, yes, we are aware that this site is missing the subscriber button and those that did aren’t receiving posts I was able to devise a plan to fix this a pop-up window appears on a given page and you subscribe and once you have done this the pop-up will not come back as you have subscription if you don’t want it might be a nuance but ignore it. It’s the best we have right now. The reason this happened WordPress updated the site and then someone at Bluehost supposedly wanted to help removed the plugins and temporary took the site offline, hence a long strange road to get it back online.
