Welcome to another month of Visions of Horror while this is a tad backdated, if you read the Editor’s Greeting you would know why, simply as I strive to get the entire site back into stalking your mind with horror delights, I am overcoming lengthy medical issues. Therefore, let’s dive into the films and numbers of the groovy, wacky, and incredible horror that others choose for me to view in this month. The oldest film on the list that celebrated its 80th anniversary was Phantom of the Opera [1943] which is a very mild horror film while four other movies tied for the second-place eldest film at 65-years they are How to Make a Monster, The Brain Eaters, It! The Terror from Beyond Space, and The Fly (which starred Vincent Price) which are all from 1958. There was only one flick that celebrated its 50th, that’s The Boy Who Cried Werewolf I mention this because I am too that age so it’s just a reference point. Speaking of references, there’s two movies on the list I always watch on the 4th of July they are The Return of the Living Dead [1985] and Jaws [1975]. Finally, out of 31 days, I missed one day to personal matters, but still watched 32 films, with two films rewatched as part of our Revisiting Horrors Column.
