Well friends and fans, I hope you all enjoyed that great month of October, always so much to do and little time to get it done, I too was stretched extremely thin, made it out to some events and testing to make sure I was on the right path with rehab namely for strength and working, and it appears that’s good. Anyway, I know there wasn’t a lot of reviews for the month, I need to explain, first as you know I work tiresome in the horror genre, from being a Tagline Doctor to Ghost Writer of Scripts, a Prop Master, a Voice Actor, Writer/ Journalist, and Promoter, it was that last one which carried me into another direction. As many know I do a huge fundraiser for Multiple Sclerosis in March, for the past 10-years, a event supported by The Horror Times, itself, well with the success of it I was hired to do one for a Alzheimer Fundraiser, hence working with county and state officials as well local towns, plenty of meetings in generating business interest and volunteers, it became time consuming but worthwhile event which occurred on November 4th, and it has already lead to another hired for April 2024 for another massive event.
Speaking of journalism, an upcoming article will be covering the film The Crazies [1973] when I had the opportunity this past month to visit Evans City and other surrounding towns, I had informed the city manager that I would taking photos of houses, fire station and even a post office, and some will say “well you are in public there’s nothing anyone can do,” yes that is true, but asking for the permission and obtaining gives an extra layer of protection and acceptance. It was part of a larger trip of driving through numerous backroads of Pennsylvania while antiquing for props for upcoming movies that ultra-low budget filmmakers contacted me about obtaining those unique McGuffin items and other items that could lead to being rented out and make for interesting conversations. Looking for something special? Just contact me…
The year-end is fast approaching, and the horror hasn’t stopped it’s always continuing yet it needs your help, there’s a large swath of people who aren’t collecting anything anymore, which is sad, for example in America, the average number of books a person has in the home is 30, but the number is dwindling with Gen Z having about 4 as they encourage the move to digital, I of course have over 1,000 books (horror non-fiction and fiction). In fact, people just contact me to drop them off, along with magazines and comics, it is a small but growing library of information, therefore need to downsize contact me… Just look at the rarity of owning DVDs/Blu-rays the cost has risen dramatically as the demand dropped by 86% in the past 10-years, in essence it is becoming the job of the few to help numerous mom-n-pop stores and sites for the help as Videoeta.com just ended their reign which existed since 1999. Fans have contacted me looking for some of these materials I often help them out in some manner.
Which brings to me numerous items ready to send out giveaways, if you would like a free box of horror contact us on Facebook at Baron’s Crypt, The Horror Times, or myself Baron Craze on the messenger, note though you need to be in the lower 48-states sorry can’t afford to ship to Alaska or Hawaii or outside of the USA. I’ll be doing random giveaways soon…
Until next month – enjoy all the horror you can…. Be sure to scare the ones you love!
