Editor’s Greeting for August 2023

***The Extreme in Any Manner Leaves a Lasting Impression! *** – Baron Craze

Well friends and fiends, another new month is upon us, and the year of 2023 is swiftly moving onward, plenty of new trailers are dropping and what is equally important about this month, it’s moving closer to Halloween, Spirit Halloween often opens its flagship store on the last Sunday in July, unleashing plenty of new delights, and prior to that Michaels, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Home Goods, At Home (varies per state) and even Cracker Barrel released their merch for the upcoming holiday. However, to be fair, Target often waits until after labor day, to move the back to school items. Now one needs to be careful not to spend too wildly budget the cash flow, and carefully check over the items to see the cost value ratio. Sometimes it is best to wait for higher discounts. Besides always check out the antique or thrift stores as there’s a chance to acquire a rarity item that few folks own rather than the 50,000 alike products from the big Halloween stores.

There’s also a series of horror conventions preparing to unleash new opportunities such as New Jersey Horror Con, which sadly I’m not attending any of these events this year most likely my earliest return to the Fest and Convention circuit will occur somewhere around March of 2024 this is due to the ongoing medical battle. I would like to thank everyone for their well-wishes it’s all appreciate it. An important aspect concerning the future of conventions because I feel there is an underlying element that people are probably missing those who think AI is a new trending thrill of all time you are sadly mistaken. AI is a hunter killer creation it is the predator of all time it learns, so much that it prompted first a writer strike against Hollywood why primarily due to the factor of AI writing screenplays with everybody switching over to this new these new platforms writers are getting left behind then there’s the actors they have wised up because they’ve realized that AI is going to replace them both in the form of voice actors to actual characters in a movie where they’re likeness being copied. Now authors have had to sue because about 6,000 books have been fed into AI programs and violating copyright laws. So why am I bringing all this up it’s very simple you must attend the conventions because let me ask a simple question to you would you rather attend a convention will you have to see live breathing actors or see a bunch of television monitors at AI, at which there’s no more conventions and think of the cascade of problems that’ll cause. This likely won’t happen in our lifetime, however convention attending has become a family adventure, what is deemed abnormal or kooky to others is welcoming and fun to the rest of us, Horror Fans; nonetheless the embrace and acceptance of AI could lead to these events becoming what Video Stores were, fond memories.

Fans of Shark Week you just survived another week from Discovery Channel we here, don’t dare try to compete with that feeding frenzy and hence wait to the latter half of this month for our newly named Chompfest we started it last year with a couple films on the subject of shark movies. This year we have the intended goal of releasing quite a few reviews been working on this project and I think I might be able to do well. And speaking of reviews (lack thereof) all been related to one topic medical, and I know that’s affecting so many things podcast shows I continue to do my best. There’s still a possibility it can be achieved this year.

One year ago, things looked mighty grim for the Baron since then a tough long road back to full sailing force, as I often refer to myself as a Ghost Galleon, our skeleton crew dedicated to the cause to provide the best in research and horror creation for you’re the fans of the genre. We sail through trouble times yet stay afloat! I may be a little banged up and I’m looking forward to returning to my writing and being out and about next year.
