Well fiends, friends, and fans, are you hungry to chomp down for another incredible serving of delicious horror fun? The New Jersey Horror Con has plenty to offer for everyone who attends from wonderful guests to meet to the incredible vendors, and authors on hand – a smorgasbord of delights for all you zombie and cannibal fanatics out there. Let’s see what’s on the menu…
This Horror Convention and Film Festival lasts for 3 days running from Friday 5:00 p.m. to Sunday 5:00 p.m. now if you are curious on how to handle yourself without gorging too quickly listen to these rules. First, consider Friday as your day to sample the convention take a few nibbles here and there but do not fill up too much, stay on budget, set a cash limit, figure out the autographs you want the most. Then on Saturday it starts at 10:00 a.m. and could run all the way to midnight or later so you must pace yourself as you walk the floor multiple times so have a comfortable pair of walking shoes on if you prefer to wear boots be careful where you stomp it’s not polite to step on other people’s feet you may raise somebody’s ire and have them pull out their claws. This is a fun event, a party with other horror fanatic fans like yourself engaging in the same topic to see what they like and what they share and maybe your own horror movie creation could rise from dreams to reality.
Remember to keep yourself well hydrated if you don’t, you’ll never make it to the end think of it as a zombie apocalypse survivability is the key remember to take breaks if you’re unsure where you can sit down there’s a film festival which is free with your ticket or you can go to a Q&A panel. Be sure to look further down in this article for our “Seven Keys” to enjoying the film festival on an extremely no-budget yet, make some lasting memories for you. Now for those who are staying all weekend Sunday is known as liquid day you may still be bloodthirsty, most in the early portion of the morning will look or feel wasted from an enduring battle. The day is going to fly by its final countdown.
Now let us look at the ingredients to what is going to be available at the New Jersey Horror Convention March event 2023…
First the noteworthy Horror Icons, shall be in attendance all 3-days MICHAEL BERRYMAN The Hills Have Eyes Fame and the classy LINNEA QUIGLEY star of The Return of the Living Dead [1985] among dozens of others! Both, Icons, are a great joy to be in attendance and wonderful to meet.
While it being over 220-days to Halloween this con has three stars from the original production on-hand – TONY MORAN, CHARLES CYPHERS, and NANCY LOOMIS, and for those unaware, Charles and Nancy both starred in The Fog [1980].
Does the sound of banjo make you shiver or the line ‘Squeal like a pig!” have you running from the woods, then be forewarned case BILLY REDDEN (Deliverance [1972]) shall want to meet you though still curious about the woods then BRIAN BREMER (Pumpkinhead [1988]) has tales to tell, as does PANCHO MOLER (Candy Corn [2019] and 31 [2016]).
Are you a fan of Friday the 13th franchise? Well, JUDIE ARONSON of Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter [1984] and Weird Science which also starred MICHAEL BERRYMAN to on hand as well as TOM MCLOUGHLIN of Friday the 13th: Part VI: Jason Lives [1986].
If slashers flicks do feed your hunger pains, then a smorgasbord that features MIKO HUGHES (Wes Craven’s New Nightmare [1994]); representing opposition to Chucky in Child’s Play 2 [1990] ALEX VINCENT and CHRISTINE ELISE look forward to meeting their fans. In addition, CAROLINE WILLIAMS (The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Part 2 [1986]) and starring in the upcoming flick Renfield, it’ll be great to see her too! While Valentine’s Day is over, there’s one person still mining for it, RICHARD JOHN WALTERS (My Bloody Valentine 3D [2009]). Let’s give a solid Jersey welcome to NICHOLAS MELE (A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4: The Dream Master [1988]) to his first show ever!
The event has some returning Champions to it among them JOHN RUSSO famous writer for Night of the Living Dead [1968] and The Return of the Living Dead [1985], then JOHN DUGAN a name synonymous with the Texas Chainsaw Massacre of [1974] followed by a special returning treat from CLINT HOWARD who delivered a fascinating Q&A panel to a previous NJ Horror Con filled with amusing stories, antidotes, and sheer laughter for a very large present for him. However, one must not forget FELISSA ROSE, she has graced this event so many times in the past and is here once again she cherishes every moment that she can and gives serious time to every fan of hers that comes to her table.
Oh, one last morsel to chew over, there are quite a few other guests that we’re going to be there to name them all is nearly impossible but I could suggest one take the time to meet the YouTube sensational duo THE GRIMM LIFE COLLECTIVE.
For those who are obsessed with Art the Clown of the famed Terrifier series, the composer is going to be available, this is a good treat for the other inspired composers, who often feel they are overlooked in the movie making business – you are equally important, take the time to visit with PAUL WILEY.
Does this event bring out your inner beast, then stars of two werewolf films await your visit to have hoot and howl with first MICHAEL PARE (Bad Moon [1996]) and RICHARD TYSON (Big Bad Wolf [2006]); fret not if you seek another possession that can come from EILEEN DIETZ (The Exorcist [1973]) or a chance meeting with the New Jersey Horror Con Spiritual advisor FATHER EVIL.
Closing us out we have the rare appearance from JOEL MURRAY and ERIC ROBERTS their diverse acting roles on both the large and small screen have been entertaining over countless years and would be great to see them in person whether it’s your first time or seeing once more, it’s fun time for all!
