AVULSED, the Spanish death metal band, has released their first new track in eight years, titled “Vile Evil Rotted Over“. The song was launched on February 28th, in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of the passing of Verónica Váquez, the wife of AVULSED‘s vocalist Dave Rotten, who fought cancer for two years. The lyrics and cover art of the song pay tribute to her, a true warrior who will remain immortal in the memories of those who knew her.

Due to unexpected technical issues with the digital distributor, the song is currently only available on YouTube as a lyric video with Spanish subtitles.
Since 2015, AVULSED had not recorded a new song, it was on the EP “Altar of Disembowelment” supported by a European tour, and although it is true that the following year they re-recorded 18 songs for “Deathgeneration” with which they celebrated their 25th anniversary participating in numerous big festivals in Spain and Europe, and in 2017 they released the double live album “Night of the Living Deathgenerations” followed by another tour in Europe. However, the band began a slow songwriting process, which is actually the usual one for about 3 years between one album and another, but in 2020 the pandemic came and cut short all plans. This situation, together with terrible family dramas in some of the members, caused the songwriting to stop drastically.
“Vile Evil Rotted Over” will be available for listening on all digital platforms as soon as possible, and the band has launched a new official Facebook page to keep fans informed. The previous page was lost due to a hacking incident, and the new one can be found at www.facebook.com/Avulsed91 . The band has promised an important announcement by the end of the month and invites fans to follow and share their page to stay updated.
AVULSED is back and in better shape than ever, ready to pick up the ground lost in recent years. Enjoy “Vile Evil Rotted Over” and stay tuned for more updates from the band.
