First, these aren’t playing favorites to a website or label, but in the horror genre there are plenty of places to purchases the merchandise, and while many don’t call it this, I do, horror is more than an interest, it’s a lifestyle, ask those hardcore members of the ranks, Think of all the avenues available from home decorations to accessories for automobiles, even car shows have gotten into the swing of things, with zombie vehicles (often gimmicky), clothing with Cavity Colors offering more vivid items than the standard bearer of Fright Rags. However still what appears an overlook item is the music, namely soundtracks, but without the composer the images may be shocking, but the drive of story comes from the sound.

Directed by Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, I Am The Pretty Thing That Lives in the House) and starring Sophia Lillis (It Chapters 1 and 2), Gretel & Hansel is a 2020 American Dark Fantasy Horror Film based on the German folklore tale Hansel and Gretel by The Brothers Grimm. The story is set a long time ago in a distant fairy tale countryside and focuses on a young girl who leads her little brother into a dark wood in desperate search of food and work, only to stumble upon a nexus of terrifying evil. Gretel & Hansel offers a terrifying untold story to the classic fairytale.
The soundtrack by Paris-based composer ROB (Revenge, Horns) is a haunting and hypnotic electronic soundscape that features Moog synthesizers and a mellotron. There was no orchestra involved in the creating process, as ROB played all instruments himself, except from additional cellos by his recording partner Moritz Reich.

JACOB’S LADDER 30th Anniversary Soundtrack
Jacob’s Ladder is a 1990 psychological horror movie starring Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Peña, and Danny Aiello. The film follows Jacob Singer, a Vietnam veteran, whose experiences before and during the war result in strange, fragmented visions and bizarre hallucinations that continue to haunt him. As his ordeal worsens, Jacob desperately attempts to figure out the truth. Though only moderately successful upon release, Jacob’s Ladder garnered a cult following. Its plot and special effects became a source of influence for various other works such as the horror video game Silent Hill and the TV series American Horror Story. Kim Manners prepared for directing The X-Files episode “Grotesque” by listening to the score to Jacob’s Ladder.
The experimental score by late French composer Maurice Jarre is dynamic and haunting with use of piano, synth, orchestral cues, and droning electronic soundscapes that feature reverberating horns, chants, tribal woodwinds, and chasing percussion. The avant-garde score is atmospheric and melancholy without sacrificing melody. It features seamless transitions that reflect Jacob’s loneliness, grief, nightmares, and horrific hallucinations.

Stephen King’s IT 1990 TV movie is a film adaptation of the 1986 horror novel by the same title. The story follows the experiences of seven children known as “The Losers’ Club” as they are terrorized by an entity that exploits the fears and phobias of its victims to disguise itself while hunting its prey. “It” primarily appears in the human form of a sadistic, wisecracking clown by the name of Pennywise The Dancing Clown.
The expansive score by composer and conductor Richard Bellis features a range of classic orchestral cues and electronic music and sound effects by usage of synthesizers. Bellis won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Composition for a mini-series for his work on the film.
